About Me
My Beginnings
I grew up in Francis, SK, where my parents farmed. My older sister would often take me riding as a little girl and it started a love affair with horses that has never ceased! Dad bought me my first pony, a beautiful black Welsh Pony named Jackson, when I was 6 years old. He was the best first "horse" a little girl could ever want! I bought several more horses over the course of my school career, as well as bred for my very first foal! (That little filly became my main mount, and now serves as the lesson horse to my 3 daughters!) I taught riding lessons and trained and sold auction sale horses as a way to make money and was a 4-H member for several years in my local Light Horse club. Everything I did seemed to revolve around equines! After graduating high school, I went to work as a farm hand for a horse trainer in my area! It was by far my favourite job! I learned many things, mostly how much I still had to learn about horses! I married my best friend, Kevin, in 2006 and the fun had just begun!

My Horsey Lovin' Family
After marrying Kevin, I moved all my fur babies, felines and equines, to his family farm near Grenfell, SK. We both love horses and so spent as much time as we could riding and training the horses we had. We used them to help with our commercial cattle herd and were starting to collect a few more "hay burners", as my dad so aptly called them! Our daughters were also starting to show an interest... ok, an obsession for all things equine! In 2011, we sold the farm, bought a trucking business, and moved to town! It's always interesting moving farm kids to town, but we were able to find a wonderful boarding stable and moved our best mare to her new home! Shortly after, while chatting with my sister-in-law, we decided that the Grenfell area needed a Light Horse 4-H club! So onward we went! Creating that club is one of my best experiences so far, and I love all the horsey connections it has brought us! I stepped down as General Leader of the club in 2017, and finally took the step to become a Certified Equine Emergency First Aid Instructor with Equi-Health Canada.I completed my course with flying colors and am so excited to start this next leg of my equine journey!
